Walks designed for connection, presence, and restoration.
At Connections Way, each walk is thoughtfully designed to support your well-being, honoring the unique rhythm of both person and place. Whether you are seeking quiet reflection, gentle movement, connection with nature, or a more expansive coastal experience, we curate each walk with care.
Kauaʻi offers a rich diversity of landscapes—from oceanfront paths and sandy shorelines to forested trails and open green spaces. The following locations are a selection of our preferred walk settings, each offering its own distinct atmosphere and experience.
We are happy to tailor your walk to the location that feels most aligned for you, and we welcome your suggestions. If there is an element that is especially important—such as privacy, accessibility, scenery, or terrain—please let us know so we can thoughtfully design your experience.

Kapa'a Coastal Path
Ke Ala Hele Makalae (The Path that Goes by the Sea) is Kauaʻi’s only coastal bike and pedestrian path. This gently winding, paved trail follows the island’s stunning shoreline, offering level terrain, refreshing ocean breezes, and expansive sunrise views over the Pacific.
Kealia Beach
The Ke Ala Hele Makalae follows alongside Kealia’s long stretch of white sand beach, offering an ideal setting for sunrise walks with your feet in the sand. Convenient parking is located just steps from the shoreline, with nearby restroom facilities for ease and comfort.

Paliku (Donkey) Beach
A more secluded stretch along the Ke Ala Hele Makalae, Paliku Beach offers a serene setting for barefoot beach walks and stunning sunrise views. Access is available via a public parking area just north of Kealia Beach, followed by a half-mile tree-lined path with an incline, or directly along the coastal trail.
Princeville Bike Path
Located on Kauaʻi’s North Shore, this lovely two-and-a-half-mile paved pathway winds through the Princeville resort community alongside the golf course. With gentle inclines and views of mountains, resort landscapes, and glimpses of the ocean, it offers an accessible and scenic walking experience. Though more frequented, it is uniquely situated in one of the only places where native, endangered birds nest alongside a human community.

Hanalei Bay
This crescent-shaped bay, the largest on Kauaʻi’s North Shore, offers sweeping mountain and ocean views. Its expansive sandy shoreline is ideal for level beach walking, with accessible parking and nearby facilities. Popular and often lively, the beach is a hub for sunbathers and ocean activities.
Wai Koa Loop Trail
This forested trail, accessed via the North Shore Dog Park, offers a mostly level dirt path through lush surroundings. Portions of the trail can become muddy after rain. Stroll through the “Enchanted Forest” and discover why forests are known as places of rest. As the trail sits closer to the mountains, passing showers are common. Parking is unpaved, there are no on-site facilities, and the site has a required waiver before entry.
